WINE FUTURES BY NORMANBY FINE WINES

Ruggeri

Collection: Ruggeri

Ruggeri is one of the great names of Valdobbiadene, a historic Prosecco house built on precision, family tradition, and the pursuit of elevated sparkling wine. Founded in 1950 by Giustino Bisol, whose lineage in viticulture dates back to the 19th century, Ruggeri has remained steadfast in its commitment to crafting wines that express the best of the Valdobbiadene Superiore DOCG — elegant, mineral, and unmistakably rooted in the steep hills of the Veneto.

The estate works with a network of trusted growers, many of whom cultivate old vines on the precipitous slopes around Santo Stefano and San Pietro di Barbozza — areas considered the beating heart of Conegliano-Valdobbiadene. The focus is on Glera, the primary grape of Prosecco, with small additions of Verdiso, Perera, and Bianchetta adding nuance to certain cuvées. Farming is sustainable and guided by sensitivity to slope, sun exposure, and the natural rhythm of the vines.

Winemaking is refined and consistent. Grapes are hand-harvested and gently pressed, with fermentation carried out at low temperatures to preserve aromatics. The Charmat method is used for secondary fermentation, with extended lees contact on top cuvées to build texture and finesse. The result is a portfolio of sparkling wines that goes far beyond simplicity — wines that carry both lift and quiet depth, crafted with restraint and clarity.

The wines are fresh, pure, and delicately structured. Giustino B., Ruggeri’s flagship cuvée, is a benchmark for the category — floral, citrus-laced, and layered with pear, white blossom, and subtle creaminess. The Quartese Brut is more mineral and dry, while sweeter styles are balanced by vibrant acidity and a clean, mountain-light finish. Across the range, there is a through-line of elegance: wines that feel effortless, yet shaped with intention.

What defines Ruggeri is its quiet mastery — a house that lets the hills speak softly, crafting sparkling wines with both charm and composure.

These are wines that float rather than flash — woven from light, limestone, and the delicate breath of northern Italian air.
