The 2024 Château de Pez was cropped at 27 hl/ha and underwent a very light extraction. It has a straightforward, classically styled bouquet with blackberry, loam and light cedar scents that unfold nicely in the glass. This has fine delineation and prudent use of oak. The sample at the château was a little more floral than the first. The palate is medium-bodied and cohesive, with a keen line of acidity, fine tannins and a fresh, sapid finish. This will require a couple of years in bottle, but it is certainly a decent Haut-Médoc that should age well.
The 2024 de Pez is seriously beautiful. Dark, powerful and deeply savory, the 2024 possesses gorgeous textural depth and resonance. Mocha, dried flowers, spice, cedar and tobacco are all dialed up in this wonderfully fleshy, sumptuous Saint-Estèphe. This is impeccably done. Tasted three times.
