Focus and purity to the fruit aromatics, careful construction, leafy character that manages to turn into sappy juiciness on the finish, but lacks the concentration of recent vintages. 29hl/h yield, harvest September 23 to October 7, lower temperature fermentation around 26C than in the past, and shorter maceration, 3.61ph.

The 2024 G d'Estournel is impressive. Deep, powerful and virile, the G is endowed with notable textural presence. Dark-toned fruit, gravel, licorice, mocha, lavender and spice are all amplified. This hearty Haut-Médoc has a ton to offer. Gorgeous.

The 2024 G d'Estournel has quite an opulent bouquet in the context of the vintage, with conspicuous cassis and dark chocolate scents that percolate through the black fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with quite firm tannins. It's a little "rigid" at the moment, with moderate length and a tannic finish. This deserves a couple of years in bottle to shave its edges.
